The beauty of this charming village of approx. 3,000 inhabitants, built on huge blocks of lava stone cliff, a pyroclastic sedimentary rocks typical of the place will delight you: picture-postcard views, is to say from the stereotype of the Italian village. Those images are often seen on brochures and attract foreign tourists to visit our beautiful country. Yet Vitorchiano is a jewel of peace and real life: it is absolutely genuine and viable, there is nothing that has been artificially created to attract tourists or just to please them. A Vitorchiano find shops with all the basic necessities, two supermarkets, one of which is open on Sunday, several hairdressers, a good barber shop, several bars, two pizzerias, a medical clinic and a summer swimming pool.

A Vitorchiano every season has its special charm, the summer season is certainly the most lively, punctuated by frequent holidays and festivals: people love to gather in the square, the long warm evenings invite you to leave. In winter, the silence reigns lord, the village seems asleep, night falls early and it’s nice to engage in quiet reading, sipping a cup of tea.
