‘L'Antica Magione’ is located in the south-west wing of the Castello di Saltemnano, which is a striking medieval building, whose origins trace back to 1050 A.D. It is surrounded by the rolling hills of the breathtaking tuscan scenery and country paths bordered by cypresses and ancient oaks.
‘L’Antica magione’ has belonged for centuries to the noble Massari family and thanks to a careful restoration, preserves its ancient features, offering its visitors the charm of the ancient structure and modern comforts.
The building is made up of three individual apartments, carefully furnished with original Tuscan pieces, a beautiful mixture of past nobility and rustic charm. Each one is equipped with independent heating, kitchen-living room, double room, private bathroom.
The first one, ‘Il Focolare’ find its fulcrum in the big fireplace which dominates the large, light and airy kitchen. The second, ‘Gli Archi’, takes its name from two elegant niches surmounted by arches, enhancing the evocative atmosphere of the bedroom. The last one, ‘La Loggetta’ is characterized by the presence of a staircase leading to a pleasant porch.
Clients can cook in the comfort of their own apartment or enjoy meals in the restaurant ‘La Locanda del Castello’.
In summer, clients can also enjoy a lovely swimming pool set in stunning scenery.
“L’Antica Magione” is located in a strategic position for nature and artistic tours to Siena and many other places of interest, including Montalcino, Monteoliveto Abbey, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and the Chainti classic area, to name but a few.
